What's For Dinner This Week?
A real 7-day family dinner plan โ quick, kid-friendly, nothing fancy. Free, no sign-up needed.
You already know the feeling. It's 5pm, everyone's hungry, and your brain is completely blank. Here's an easy week to fall back on โ and at the bottom, a way to get a new one every week without ever staring at the fridge again.
Your 7-day dinner plan
Ground beef or chicken, shells, and whatever toppings are in the fridge. Always a win, always fast.
One pan, one clean-up. Toss chicken thighs and chopped potatoes/carrots with oil and salt, roast 35 min.
Jarred sauce is fine. Make a double batch of meatballs and freeze half for a night you don't feel like cooking at all.
Eggs, bacon, pancakes. Takes 15 minutes, kids love it, and it breaks up the week.
Use up whatever rice and vegetables are left over from earlier in the week. Nothing goes to waste.
Delivery, frozen, or homemade on flatbread โ Friday is for not cooking much.
Leftovers, eat out, or whatever sounds good. Every week needs one night with no plan at all.
4 tips that actually make meal planning stick
Keep 5 "safety net" meals on repeat
You don't need 30 different dinners. Most families genuinely eat the same 8-10 meals on rotation โ figure out yours and lean on them.
Build the grocery list from the plan, not the other way around
Deciding meals first means you buy exactly what you need โ less waste, fewer "what do I even make with this" ingredients sitting in the fridge.
Always keep one "free day"
A week with zero flexibility is a week you'll abandon by Wednesday. Leave one night open on purpose.
Write down what actually got eaten
The meals your family devours vs. the ones that got picked at โ that's the real signal for next week's plan.
